Cherry Rivera (they/them) is an actor with a love for all things campy and quirky. Born and raised in Miami, this firecracker has a passion for cosplay and transformation through makeup and costuming. Being born into a family of Cuban-Lebanese artists, Cherry’s great aunt starred in many well known Cuban films and telenovelas and the knack for acting confidently runs in the family.

Having graduated from the Hialeah High magnet program for theater in 2017, Cherry got their start performing in musicals and plays on the high school stage, joining the show choir, and participating in the One Act and I.E. festivals. It was here where they found their talent for makeup, acting, and singing.

In no time, Cherry began to build a reputation in the local theater scene while attending college at MDC North Campus. During this time they starred in such shows as Godspell, The Theory of Relativity, Extremities, and The Spitfire Grill. They also worked their first internship for City Theatre in their 2019 Summer Shorts production.

In 2020, Cherry began in the acting track at New World School of the Arts. During their time at NWSA, they have starred in Angels in America, Hedda Gabler, The Caucasian Chalk Circle, and Libation Bearers. They also received extensive vocal and physical training.

Cherry’s other talents include singing, sketching, writing plays and poetry, interpretive dance, and cooking.
